The NAACP Illinois State Conference is holding its 88th Annual Convention
Sept. 26–28, 2025 in Kankakee.
The Kankakee County Branch of the NAACP is proud to host the 88th Annual Illinois State Conference NAACP Convention, scheduled for September 26-28, 2025, at the Quality Inn and Suites, 800 North Kinzie Avenue, Bradley, Illinois.
Theme: “The Fierce Urgency of Now” — inspired by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This convention will feature a dynamic array of workshops, impactful speakers, expert presenters, and engaging activities designed to inspire and empower participants. Attendees will have opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions, gain valuable insights, and contribute to the continued fight for justice, equity, and civil rights.
Convention Highlights:
- Friday, Sept. 26: Labor Breakfast with Tim Drea, Illinois AFL–CIO, and workshops on veterans’ benefits, juvenile justice reform, and climate justice. Advocacy Luncheon features Senator Patrick Joyce.
- Saturday, Sept. 27: Women in the NAACP (WIN) Breakfast honoring “Phenomenal Women with Hats & Boots on the Ground.” Workshops on education, criminal justice, and community safety. Leadership Luncheon keynote: Tammi Davis, Obama Foundation. Evening Freedom Fund Banquet with keynote Rev. Dr. Michael C.R. Nabors.
- Sunday, Sept. 28: Delegates Breakfast, Worship Service, and Closing Plenary.
